Eczema Quiz on facebook

Last Friday for my Fab Finds for Friday post, I posted a picture of some super cute chrochet baby mittens (see post here). Under the photo, I explained that my youngest son has been battling severe eczema since he was only 6 weeks old.

What is Eczema? It's a chronic skin condition (atopic dermatitis), and there are different types, but atopic dermatitis is very common. Atopic dermatitis is also linked to asthma and hay fever (my son also has both of these). With eczema, dry, itchy, inflamed skin can affect only some parts of the body (very common is behind elbows and knees) or all over (in my son's case, it's mostly all over the body). Learn more about what eczema is with this link to the National Eczema Association (NEA):

Well, for those of you not knowing too much about eczema, I thought it might be fun for you to test your knowledge. Here's a quiz from the National Eczema Association on facebook. Find out how much you know about eczema!

The National Eczema Association is a great resource for people with eczema, parents of children with eczema, and friends. It is a nonprofit organization offering so much information and support while also creating more awareness about eczema. Learn more about this great nonprofit with the link below:

So sorry to hear about your little one. Hope the mittens work for him, and that he eventually grows out of it. Some folks do: just keep praying and hoping for the best. Meanwhile, the cheer him up, perhaps a visit to my shop at www.coldhamcuddlies.etsy.com might help you both, as well as reading the accompanying blog at http://www.ColdhamCuddliescalling.blotspot.com? Love Isobel

Sorry to hear about your little guy. I suffered from eczema when I was little. I had it all over as a child but as a teen I had it only in small spots and as an adult I only get it occassionaly in ver small spots. There's definitely hope that he may grow out of it!
