October is...

Do you know what the month of October is?  Well, I'm sure we're all well aware that October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  Each year, our Etsy shop participates in fundraising activities through a team we're on called Etsy Angels to donate portions of our October proceeds to support Breast Cancer Awareness.  This year will be a little bit different for us.  We will still be making a donation to support Breast Cancer research and education, but we have another important cause to support as well.

Because...

Since my youngest son has had eczema since he was just six weeks old, Eczema has been a very huge part of our family's life.  Thankfully, he has learned to better manage his scratching, but his itching is a constant battle for him each and every day.  We support the National Eczema Association and all it stands for, because we know what it's like to live with this condition.  Baby girl has it too, but not as bad as her brother.

To learn about Eczema Awareness Month, simply click the image above.

Coming soon to our Etsy shop you'll see special listings, just for Eczema Awareness Month, where all proceeds will go to the National Eczema Association.  And where will you see them FIRST?  Right here on the blog!  So stay tuned.  =0)

Happy October!

My younger brother has eczema and it looks as though his youngest son has it now too. It's really been a hard thing to see. The baby tears at his skin until its raw and you just know he is miserable. It's always been a challenge to find the things that work for my brother and the things that don't. I hope y'all are able to find exactly what works the BEST for your children.

I have eczema, my dad has eczema, and my son has eczema. Luckily, there are treatments now for it - not cures, mind you. When my dad was little, all the doctors did for him was paint him with iodine... Isn't that wonderful? The only treatment I had when I was young was Hydrocortisone (a steroid). In comparison, my son has the option of specialized lotions, Hydrocortisone and prescription topical creams. Still no cure. But choice of treatments is a nice thing to have!
