Time for Potty Training

So for the past few months, it's been pretty clear that Baby Girl is ready for potty training.  It's me who's been the slacker here.  I should have had a training toilet already, but I just kept putting it off.  Well, no more!  It's time.  For the past couple of weeks, I've been taking off her diaper now and then and trying to teach her to run (yes, run) into the bathroom when she thinks she has to go.  She's super scared of the toilet!  She'll run to the bathroom, but when she gets there, she stops dead center and won't move.  I thought this little training seat below would help (sorry for the poor picture quality).

No, it didn't help at all.  She's still scared of sitting on that big toilet!  We're going to have to get her one of those little toilets.  I was trying to stay away from that, thinking that it would be easier for her to just start using the real toilet with the help of the seat (not to mention - way easier to clean).  But she won't even get near it (dang it! I thought the princess stuff on the soft, puffy seat would help).  She's afraid she'll fall in!

But YAY for training pants!  She likes wearing them, so there IS hope!

We'll be getting a small toilet for her soon in hopes that it will help the potty training.  And for Christmas she's getting a set of Princess big girl panties.  =0)  A good thing about potty training girls...We can put her in lots of cute little dresses during this time!  LOL  Wish me luck, everyone!

The "Cheer for me" potty toilet (I think by Fisher Price) has been my favorite. My daughter loved that hers could talk and mine couldnt lol.
Good luck :)

Good luck! We have a training potty for our son, he loves having his own and they make so many 'cool' ones. Maybe it'd be good motivation for her!

Good luck! I remember potty training my older son, he kind of made the rules and at about 2 1/2 he told me that when he turned 3 he would use the potty. Sure enough he did! Just gotta give them time and help them where you can. Once she gets the hang of it you'll be thankful you took the time to do it!

Kids are so funny about certain things! My son would get under his rocking horse (the kind on springs) so I knew when to rush him into the bathroom! Thank goodness he's past that now though (and at age 32, I would hope so.....) Ha!

Kids do have a mind of their own, don't they! She will love the training and big girl panties! Good luck!

Good luck with the potty training, I'm sure it will happen quickly and soon she loves wearing her big girl panties.

My daughter was the same way! We got her a little potty and she used that for a couple months. Then as soon as we got her a Dora toilet seat, she wouldn't even use the little potty anymore. Good luck!!

Good luck!!

We have a potty for our little guy and he loves it. We bought this great potty chair (BABYBJÖRN) - it's comfortable and really easy to clean.
