Coolest Ways to Pack Pencils

Today I'm sharing the coolest ways to pack pencils for getting back to school. Many of today's finds were found by my two boys' browsing Etsy and looking for pencil cases or pencil boxes.  They chose some for boys, some for girls, and some that work for bigger kids too!

This first find was submitted here on my blog!  It's from Suzie's Imaginarium, one of our favorite shops (and it's where we got two pencil pouches for the boys last year, which they have no problem re-using this year, because they're that cool!).

We think these are the coolest ways to pack your pencils!!!  What do you think?

Remember, if you've come across some way cool back to school finds that you want to share (and for a possible blog feature), submit them here:

Goodbye Teams

I haven't been online so much these past few months.  We've had lots of family stuff going on with lots to do, and I just haven't had much time for Internet or Etsy.  I was a member of over 65 Etsy teams at one point.  And I realized that I really need to downsize teams, because I don't visit all those teams daily or even weekly.

So far, I've left over 10 teams.  And some of them were a little hard for me to say goodbye to, even if I wasn't an active member.  But it's something I have to do, definitely.  I've still got more teams to go through and decide which ones I'll keep and which I'll be leaving.  =(  Maybe if/when I have more time, I'll rejoin some of them - but for now, I've got to say goodbye to some Etsy teams...

If you're an Etsy member, how many teams are you on?  Do you find it difficult to visit them all?

Friday Features

For today's Friday Features, I present...Christmas in July!  Take a look at some  items from Etsy shops having Christmas in July sales.  Both shops are from the Promoting Creative Friends team, which is having a Christmas in July auction THIS week!  Read more about the auction by clicking HERE.  =)

And this next one is from a search I did using the words "Christmas Stocking," because I wanted to find just the right handmade stocking last year but never found one until after Christmas had passed.  Now I can't find that same stocking.  =(  This is one of the cute ones I did find for this post, though.

Have you found anything in honor of "Christmas in July?"  If so, share them with a comment!  =)

Big Surprise

Saturday was our last full day with our daughter here with us, because that's the day we took her down to Los Angeles to the summer leadership program she's been working so hard to attend.  Before we left Northern California, we had a big surprise for her...A smart phone.  Not just any smart phone, the iPhone.  It's her first mobile phone ever, if you can believe that.  We didn't get the newest iPhone, but we got her the iPhone 4.  Hopefully, she's happy with it.  Not bad for a first phone anyway, I'd say.

When we arrived in Los Angeles, Grandma bought her a case for her new iPhone.  Pretty cute, don't you think?  My daughter is a big Tinkerbell fan...

Next, I'm just waiting and hoping that I don't fall over dead when I see our next cell phone bill!

Thrift Store Finds

As many of you might already know, my daughter has been tirelessly fundraising to attend a prestigious summer program, the National Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine.  Well, the forum starts this Sunday!

These past few weeks, we've been on the hunt for inexpensive business attire, because the forum has a strict dress code.  Here are some of the awesome thrift store finds that we came across along the way!

Pink Jacket
Daughter doesn't really like the color, but "it will do," she says.

Black with white stripes Jacket
 Sometimes stripes are just nice.

Two dress shirts - one solid black, one solid white.
Can't go wrong with classics.

These are just some of the great finds.  All together, we found two pair of pants, four shirts, and four jackets!  And the price tag for it all - under $50!  And I'm all about saving $$$!  Now we're in the last couple of days before the forum begins, and we have shoe shopping to get done...Wish me lots of luck with that one!

Ready for Fireworks

I can't believe that July is already here, and the fourth is tomorrow!  We're getting ready for fireworks, how about you?  The kids picked out just a few favorites from one of the fireworks booths nearby.

Purple Rain
A family favorite, because we love the pretty color in it!

Morning Glory
Such a classic!  You gotta love the sparklers!  It's definitely a fave.

Another kid favorite.  So much fun!

This is a new one for us to try this year.  They say it's like the Purple Rain shown above, but in pinks instead.  Sounds pretty!

Do you have any favorite fireworks?  If so, what are they?
