GFC Ending?

I'm sure lots of you have heard about the retirement of Google Reader.  One important thing to know is that Google Friend Connect (GFC) is NOT the same as Google Reader.  The reader is a tool used to read all the lovely blogs (and other cool stuff) you follow.  GFC connects you to Google Reader, but just because Google is getting rid of Reader does not mean that GFC is also retiring (at least not yet).  If you're not quite sure what I'm talking about, here's a great post from my friend Rea over at Home for 4 Sweet Home, where she also explains step-by-step how to join bloglovin' as an alternative (which, btw, I really like bloglovin').  And when you join bloglovin, you can import all the blogs you follow - pretty cool, right?

The announcement from Google came last week and has caused quite the buzz. Well, people are thinking that the end of GFC will eventually come, and there are already a few great blog hops for bloglovin now.  One of those hops is hosted by a friend Rachel over at Postcards from Rachel.  If you're on bloglovin, hop on over and join!

I joined bloglovin last year when Google announced that they were getting rid of GFC for non-blogger blogs (like wordpress and typepad).  Now I'm super glad I joined when I did.  If you don't have bloglovin, I also have networked blogs and Google Plus, as well as a blogging community on Google Plus called Blog It Up!  Lots of options, but I encourage you to use bloglovin, as it seems that it's the way most bloggers are gravitating.

So here's a recap of where else you can follow 2justByou Blog besides GFC:

You're also free to join the blogging community on Google Plus:

So that's it for today.  Anything you want to share?  Please do with a comment!  =0)
If you're on any of the sites mentioned above, let me know, so I can follow you.
Thanks for stopping by.

Although GFC got retired for non-blogger blogs, it is not fully functional anymore and after much consideration I had to let it go. They will retire it sooner or later and I don't want to attract followers that I will later lose. I'm very sad to see GR go because it was the best tool for saving my time online. I too have turned to bkoglovin' but it seems it didn't import all of the blogs I follow, probably just the ones that were listed? I am trying Google Currents on my tablet and it seems to be working fine. Ah, always changes...

I never really used google reader. I do use blog lovin' and hello cotton and love both of those for different reasons. I've discovered lots of great blogs via hello cotton and gotten some good traffic for them. Hello Cotton is specifically for women bloggers. :)

Hi! I'm glad you invited me over to read your post...found this very helpful. I'm so relieved to see that GFC and Google reader aren't the same thing, I wasn't too sure about that. I followed along on GFC, Networked Blogs, Bloglovin, Pinterest and Google + . Thanks for your help! Look forward to connecting more :)
