Our Easter Treats

My kids made cupcakes as our Easter treats.

With our cupcakes, we tried some new cupcake liners from cake mate, no fade baking cups (bought from Walmart, but I couldn't find them online to link).  I found them in the holiday baking section, and they were a little bit pricey compared to regular baking cups (I believe they were $2.99 for the 24 count package).  But, they claim to be fade resistant when baked, so I thought we could give them a try.

They're pretty cute, right?

Well, the kids used a box cake mix (the rainbow party chip one - a kid favorite in this house).  And this is how they looked after being baked.

The No Fade name lives up to its claim!

With that being said, I might splurge sometimes to get the No Fade baking cups for a special occasion.

And here are a few shots of the frosted cupcakes, complete with sprinkles (if you're a regular reader, you KNOW my kids love sprinkles!), and a robin's egg whopper to top it off!

I thought they did a great job with our Easter treats this year.

What's your favorite Easter Holiday Treat?

Neat! That's nice, it's annoying when you have pretty liners and then can't see the design well once baked.

So cute! My mom made brownies this year with eggs on top like that, but she used green frosting mixed with coconut shavings for texture -an egg on grass. They were delicious.

yummy and cute! i make cupcakes too for Easter. It's a tradition for us. all my kids are in their late 20's and they expect cupcakes. I used Easter print cupcake liners, and they did fade thru.

Love the idea of these cupcake cases - so worth the investment, as I really hate it when my pretty cases are spoiled after baking.
