Is Your Blog Verified on Pinterest?

Happy Friday, everyone.  I've been feeling SO incredibly behind with SO many things lately.  How about you guys?

Well,  one thing on my To-Do List was to clean up my Pinterest profile.

While I was updating, I noticed that if you have a website, you can choose to verify it (so it will show up in your profile as a clickable link).

Click image to follow me on Pinterest!  =0)

I don't know when they added that, but I like it!!!  So off I went to verify...Just one problem, I had absolutely NO idea what was meant when it said in the directions for verification to "upload file to server."  WHAT???  Even further, I had no clue what to do when it started throwing the word "meta tag" at me (I'm not so familiar with html)!

So I did a little research on how to verify your blog.  It took me all of two minutes.  There were lots of tutorials.  I found quite a few directions for wordpress blogs, but here I am on the Blogger platform and having no idea what to do!  Until I found this gem to share with you today, that is.  If you have a website and you're not verified on Pinterest yet, I recommend it.  It allows Pinterest users to easily find your site, because the link is right there, and it's clickable!

Give it a try, and check out the Pin below:

Please keep in mind that the tutorial above is for Blogger blogs.  If you're a wordpress user, here's a tutorial for you - CLICK HERE.

If your blog is already verified on Pinterest, did you find it easy to do?  Did you use a tutorial like the one above?

Hope you enjoyed today's Blogger Tip.  For more tips, you can visit my Pinterest board full of them HERE.  I'm always looking for more things to add to the board too, so if you have tip you'd like to share, please do!

Have a great weekend, and thanks for stopping by.

Easy Extra Entries for the MSB #Giveaway

Do you want some super easy extra entries for the MSB Giveaway [to win a $15 gift certificate] ending in less than 24 hours???  Giveaway closes tonight at midnight, Eastern Standard Time.

Check this out!!!

Follow my new twitter account (@2Byoutify), and I'll manually add a whopping 20 extra entries for you!!!  If you haven't entered already, you can enter by CLICKING HERE.

Click the image and follow me!

Another great way to earn another 20 extra entries is to make any purchase from MSB!  And - even better - they're having a Summer Sale and Clearance event going on RIGHT NOW too!  Use code 2JUSTBYOU and you'll save an extra 20% on your entire order (sale & clearance prices included), PLUS you'll get 20 extra entries for the giveaway.  How cool is that?

Why do I have a new twitter account?  Well, I will be using this new account to tweet all things beauty, lovely and healthy.  Being beautiful is being YOU.  Byoutiful with me and join me on my journey!

I also have this new role as an MSB Affiliate.  Ever since my first purchase from MSB, I was truly impressed.  I always love supporting handmade artisans.  Beyond their awesome products, though (100% ALL natural and even a wide selection of vegan-friendly finds), the customer service is impeccable.  And what REALLY got me hooked was when they rolled out their nail lacquers in April. My Baby Girl is such a girly girl, and she loves to paint her nails and toe nails.  It's great that MSB's polishes are non-toxic and 3-FREE, and - oh, right, you guessed it - HANDMADE!!!  (Personal fave pick is the shade Island Cove...Love, love, love it!)  What is 3-Free, you ask?  3-Free means free from Formaldehyde, Toluene, and Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP).

A fun, new twitter account for you to follow and earn 20 extra entries for the giveaway.  Win-Win!!  Follow my new twitter and then leave me a comment with the following info:
1. your twitter handle
2. your email
3. your rafflecopter name

That's it.  Easy as that!  I will manually enter 20 extra chances for you to win the $15 gift certificate up for grabs.  And remember, if you make a purchase, come back and leave a comment - you'll get an additional 20 extra entries.  =0)  GOOD LUCK!

I've been thinking about my original twitter handle @shopjustByou...I was thinking about changing it to @2justByou to match the blog name.  The blog is an extension of me as the person, not just the shop.  My tweets promote handmade, of course, but I also tweet lots of other fun stuff too.  The only thing is...If I do that and change the name, will the old name carry over if people search or tweet it?  I'll have to look into that, I guess.  What do you think?  Should I change my original twitter name to match the blog?  Or should I keep it as is with @shopjustByou?

It's our FIRST bi-weekly hop for Meet & Greet.  Welcome to the party!

This week's Get-to-Know-YOU Question:
Is there a story behind the name your parents chose for you?

I'm not sure about the first name, but I have been told my middle name "Ann" was supposed to end with a "e" like my Mother and Grandmother, but there was a mistake on the birth certificate which they never fixed.  That's ok, I like being different.  :)

No story, really.  My dad just liked the name Kim.

We now have TWO!

My full given name is "Angelique" with a French accent "egu" on the first "e" (but I didn't know how to type that accent - so just imagine that it's there - hahahaha).  I was born before ultra sound technology was around but the doctor was positive that I was going to be a boy because of my "strong heart" - so my parents named me "David Jacob".....until I was born and then changed it to "Angelique Marie".  My sister's name is Monique so they sound nice together - Angelique & Monique (although I go by Angie).

Yeah.  Noor is not my birth name.  I was born with the name Eesha, but somehow it didn't suite my personality & I fell ill.  So when it came to renmae, the lucky word chosen was N. Noor is an Arabic word & means light.  Fully it makes Noor Unnahar that means day light.  So my parents consider me as the light from God and named me Noor Unnahar  :)

Words for my Wednesday

During times of difficulty, we can be strong.  Yesterday's blog post was for the people of Oklahoma, and today's Words for my Wednesday are for us all.  When you have HOPE, you have something to hold on to even when it seems that things can't get any worse.  We all need HOPE.

When all you see is black or gray, there can be color with some HOPE.  =0)

Source: via justByou on Pinterest

Yesterday I shared a couple of items for sale with proceeds going toward the disaster relief effort (you can see them HERE).  Today I share an item from our Etsy shop, inspiring us all to keep making wishes and always have hope.  Purchase this item, and we will donate $10 to for relief efforts in Oklahoma.

UPDATE: Shortly after 9:00 AM, Eastern Time, this beauty SOLD!  So we will be donating $10 to the Red Cross today.  Thank you.

If you have a quote, words, or a saying that you'd like to share, please do with a comment.  =0)

Happy Wednesday, everyone.

Oklahoma, You'll be OK

It's unreal that we have to see yet another devastating natural disaster take the lives of so many.  It's heartbreaking when I think about an entire part of a town being wiped away in just a matter of minutes.  Homes taken, lives lost, and those still searching for their loved ones.

A a few Etsy friends live in OK.  It's important to remember that people are strong and resilient, but thoughts, prayers and support can go a very long way.  People of Oklahoma, you'll be OK.  It's hard right now, and recovery is not easy, but you'll be OK.

One Etsy friend (an Etsy Rock Star) living in OK has shared a couple of items for sale with proceeds benefiting the disaster recovery efforts.  I thought I'd share them here with you as well.  And remember that you can always donate at, where your donations are indeed greatly appreciated and put to good use.

Available in a variety of colors by Rainbow Swirlz

If you know of any more Etsy shops giving proceeds to this cause, please leave links in a comment.

Please keep the disaster victims and survivors in your thoughts and prayers.  Thanks for reading.

I want to try...

Just a few months ago, I decided to give Birchbox a try, because so many of my bloggy friends gave it rave reviews.  For $10, you get a box of sample size trials of various goodies once a month.  It's fun to open and reminds me of the beauty subscriptions I used to have in the past.  In the first box we received (for March), this was included:

I've never tried a dry shampoo before.  I should have tried this for myself, but instead, I gave the sample to my daughter to try.  She loved it.

You spray just a little bit on your roots, holding the bottle about 10 inches away.  Let it sit for a minute, massage into scalp, then brush through normally and then style.  She loved how lightweight and easy to use this product was, and she liked the scent too.  Plus, it actually left no residue (and my daughter has very thick, dark hair).  A full size bottle of this baby costs $25, and she has been wanting to purchase some.

A downside to this product is that it's in an aerosol spray can.  =(  So before I went to make a purchase, I wanted to see if I could find a possible alternative.   Guess where I searched...If you said Etsy, you're right on the money!  I did a search with keywords "dry shampoo" and a total of 413 items popped up for results.  I was impressed.  Here are a couple that I want to try (but there were quite a few that looked pretty good):

Buttercream Scent
from PuurBody

Vanilla Lavender Scent

Right now I think I'm leaning toward the first one (Buttercream scent - YUM!).  Which one do you think you would you try?

Friday Feature & GIVEAWAY: Flower Land Shop

Happy Friday, everyone!  It's time for a Friday Feature with Giveaway, so I hope you're all ready to meet Sara of Flower Land Shop in the lovely Italy (a place I'd love to visit one day).  Sara's shop is full of whimsical polymer clay jewelry, each hand-sculpted and hand-painted with lots of care and attention to detail.  There are lots of great finds for animal lovers too.  =0)
Please remember that all images are clickable.

I asked Sara how she came up with her shop name.  This was her answer:
When I opened the shop I made floral jewelry with Swarovki crystals, so, I wanted to give the name “FlowerLand”.  After, I chose to make animals because I love them and they inspire me but I didn't want to change the name, it is romantic and I think that ideas can bloom like the flowers.
The subtitle “by Sara Max” is the union of my name with my boyfriend name (Massimo), he's my biggest supporter and adviser, and I wanted to thank him putting his name in the shop title.

How did Sara start making polymer clay pieces?  Here is what she said:
I discovered polymer clay on the web and I falled in love with it. When I was a child I loved to make jewelry with glass beads and threads, but techniques I used were limiting for me, I love to sculpt and to paint . Polymer clay allows me to unite jewelry making, sculpting and painting. Initially I made jewelry for myself, was 2007.

Something she wants readers to know about her work:
I'd like they to know I love my work, I spend hours and hours designing my pieces, making them and improving packaging. I'm very happy when people request custom items because I'll [know I'm] going to make something unique and special. I'd like to make people happy and I hope I do it!

What is her favorite thing to do in the summer?  She said:
To go to the beach!

I asked if she has a favorite color palette to use for the summer season.  She replied:
After classic animal colors (grey, brown etc) I'll use turquoise, neon colors, pink, white, mint green.

Where can you find Sara on the web?

Sara is giving one lucky 2justByou Blog reader a super cute Grumpy Cat necklace (shown above), a $45 value!!!  Giveaway is open worldwide and ends Saturday, June 1st at midnight, Eastern Standard Time.  To enter, just fill out the Rafflecopter form below!

Catching Up & Last Chance

These past few weeks have been pretty hectic, but I'm finally starting to catch up on some things.  I'm still about a week behind on some emails, but I've made a huge dent in my To-Do List!

One of the things that I had been meaning to do for quite some time was to get my first Pay It Forward (PIF) item off to one of the lovelies that signed up for the challenge.

A long time ago, I browsed through Bubby and Bean and found this awesome print.  Right away I knew it was going to be one of my PIF surprises.  If you're a regular reader, you know I love quotes, words and typography prints.  I love the soft colors in earth tones.  I had it shipped to Arta, a bloggy friend (one of the first to sign up for the PIF Challenge 2013), blogging at Arta's Place.

What have you been up to lately?

Also, I wanted to let everyone know that today is your LAST CHANCE to enter the giveaway we're sponsoring over at Cheers to Novelty.  You have less than 24 hours to enter for a chance to win a prize pack from our Etsy shop!  It's a low entry giveaway too, so you don't want to miss out.  =0)

Happy Tuesday, everyone!

 Meet Everyone!
This week’s Get-to-Know-YOU Question:
If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?

Kim - from 2 just B you: I'd love to learn different languages and be able to speak them without a funny American accent. I think I might also have a California accent too (whatever that is, I don't know), because one time when I called into a customer service place, the representative asked me, "You're from California, aren't you?" She said she knew because of the way I talked!

Laurie - from Created By Laurie: I would like to learn to sew clothes – really well I should say. It would be nice to create my own- it’s hard to find properly fitting clothes when you have small boobs!

 *Co Host*

Angie– from God’s Growing Garden: That's a tough question - my mind is going here & there but one thing is on the top of the list - I would like to learn how to make chocolate from scratch........with cocoa beans and cocoa butter......learn the whole "tempering" thing. I'm a chocoholic so learning this would be a dream come true. If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?
