Meet & Greet Blog Hop #27

It's our FIRST bi-weekly hop for Meet & Greet.  Welcome to the party!

We chose the perfect time to go bi-weekly, because our other HOST, Laurie, welcomed a brand new baby boy just last week (our first week off for the hop).  CONGRATULATIONS, Laurie!

This week's Get-to-Know-YOU Question:
Is there a story behind the name your parents chose for you?

I'm not sure about the first name, but I have been told my middle name "Ann" was supposed to end with a "e" like my Mother and Grandmother, but there was a mistake on the birth certificate which they never fixed.  That's ok, I like being different.  :)

No story, really.  My dad just liked the name Kim.

We now have TWO!

My full given name is "Angelique" with a French accent "egu" on the first "e" (but I didn't know how to type that accent - so just imagine that it's there - hahahaha).  I was born before ultra sound technology was around but the doctor was positive that I was going to be a boy because of my "strong heart" - so my parents named me "David Jacob".....until I was born and then changed it to "Angelique Marie".  My sister's name is Monique so they sound nice together - Angelique & Monique (although I go by Angie).

Yeah.  Noor is not my birth name.  I was born with the name Eesha, but somehow it didn't suite my personality & I fell ill.  So when it came to renmae, the lucky word chosen was N. Noor is an Arabic word & means light.  Fully it makes Noor Unnahar that means day light.  So my parents consider me as the light from God and named me Noor Unnahar  :)

They had a baseball player's name picked out for me, because they thought I was going to be a boy! When they realized I was a girl, they chose "Kristin" simply because it was pretty.

Thanks for hosting. :D

Thanks so much for hosting every week! I try not to miss it!

I have no idea if there was a reason behind my name, but I do know it must have been a common name at the time. It was rare in school that I was the only Amy in class!

I doubt it. They liked the name Crystal but didn't want Dawn as middle name as that was my neighbours name, so Crystal Gayle it was. And not after the singer either

I was named for my mother's favorite actress from the 1940's, Jennifer Jones. My mom claims that when she named me Jennifer in the 70's, she had no idea it was so popular. I don't believe her. :) I always wished I had a more uncommon name but I've started liking it better as I've gotten older.

Hello, new member here. My given name is April. My father named me. He has 2 sisters and he wanted to name one of them April but my grandfather said no. So, I was given the name.

Hi! I was named after two singers named Kelly Willard and Michelle Packard. Plus, my dad really likes the names Kelly and Michelle.

I think my mom and dad picked my name because they just like it. All of my 5 siblings and me have two first names. I looked up my name and it meant "flowing" ♥

My parents originally thought that I was going to be a boy, and they had the name Jeffery picked out for me. When they found out I was a girl, they wanted to choose a name that wasn't so common. They didn't realize that Lisa would be the 5th most popular name that year.

My name is a combination of my parents' name (first syllable). For one weird reason, my mom's side loves to put "lyn" to any girl's name in the family. :)

Thanks so much for hosting! ♥
Yes, there is a story to my name. My mom's name was Johnsine. A Danish name, we are told. Anyhow. my parents took the end of her name and added an "a" and came up with Sinea for me (pronounced SEENA). That's the story!
