The sun's UVA rays are a primary factor in premature aging. We don't want to look older, faster, do we? Do you want wrinkly skin before it's your time?
The sun's harmful UVB rays are the main reason we get sunburned, and BOTH of these types of rays are a cause of cancer!
Caring for your skin is the best way to protect against the sun's UVA and UVB rays. Start at an early age, because starting a good habit while you're young is the best way to go. Just because you're not a kid anymore doesn't mean that this doesn't apply to you, though. It's never too late to start caring for your skin. Make it a routine to lather on the sunscreen and protect your skin (and not just during summer months, either, but all year round).
The US FDA (Food and Drug Administration) made some changes to the way the product labels read on sunscreens this year. I found this nice little youtube video about The ABCs of Sun Protection for you to view, when you have time. It explains the new changes.
and one for body that have Broad Spectrum SPF 30.
More of our favorites include:
Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch Broad Spectrum SPF 70 Sunscreen
These are just a few of our favorites, and all of the above sunscreens are also great for sensitive skin (a MUST for my youngest son with severe eczema).
If you did have the three minutes to spare and watch the video above, you'll remember that sunscreen, no matter what kind, needs to be reapplied every two hours. Well, that can get costly! But, guess what...Consumer Reports revealed earlier this year that the best sunscreens are NOT necessarily the most expensive ones! Two of the Top 3 were store brand sunscreens.
So I hope we can all remember the ABCs of Skincare, especially now that we're full swing into the summer season and sunshine.
