Words for my Wednesday

At the end of yesterday's blog post, I included a story that really touched my heart. Didn't see the post? CLICK HERE.
Today's Words for my Wednesday are for anti-bullying. Spread the word. Please share this post!

"Not all forms of abuse leave bruises." ~ Danielle Steele

And this one is from a fellow blogger I "met" awhile back - an excellent author and illustrator who has inspired me with her words on more than one occasion.

"Now that you're aware of the problem, you cannot pretend you don't care.
To be concerned is to be human.
To act is to care."
~ Vashti Quiroz-Vega

Read Vashti's work, you won't be disappointed. Her stories are amazing. She is a goodreads author, and her illustrations are also amazing. Click her awesome superhero illustration below to read her take on bullying. You can also always visit her blog for some great reading!

i really like that first quote kim...i want to share a quote too...
"If you really want to do something, you'll find a way. If you don't, you'll find an excuse."
Some kids can be pressured in school by their peers to bully or just watch others being bullied...But if they really don't want to do it, then don't or if they want to stop it or help somebody, then they should.

thanks kim!

Thanks for sharing these wonderful quotes! I think the best way is to speak up.

I read a great article about how it's mean parents that teach our children to be mean, and that is so true. I have volunteered in the public schools, and the kids that get into trouble usually have parents that raise cane in the school because their kids got into trouble. That's a big part of why we are homeschooling our daughter. We are already seeing a change in her behavior because she is away from all that drama.

“No, you don't know what it's like
When nothing feels all right
You don't know what it's like
To be like me
To be hurt
To feel lost
To be left out in the dark
To be kicked when you're down
To feel like you've been pushed around
To be on the edge of breaking down
And no one's there to save you
No, you don't know what it's like
Welcome to my life”

Great post! Making a stand and speaking out about bullying and discrimination of any sort is something we all need to do and keep on doing. I love your quotes.
