A Place to Call Home

Monday I talked about how we're focusing on gratitude for the rest of the month here at 2justByou Blog. If you missed that post, click HERE to see it (and join the linky to share your blog post).

Today I'm sharing yet another thing that I am thankful for in my life - a place to call HOME. With all the chaos that's been going on in the world, I feel exceptionally lucky to have a roof over my head, a place that I can call home.

Sure, I am frustrated when it seems that it's never-ending cleaning with dishes, laundry, sweeping, mopping. And I often times get angry when it feels like NO one in the house is helping me! But at the end of every day, I have a warm bed to sleep in and a roof over my head. I can't be mad at the fact that my house isn't spotless. It's still a place to call home, which is more than some people have, and I am thankful for that.

I can totally understand what you mean when you said that it's frustrating to have to clean and work hard to keep the house looking nice. And most of the time I also complain about little things like that, but I should just remind myself that it's a blessing to have a house in the first place! <3

Hi Kim, I was actually just thinking about this yesterday. I have been in mourning since we lost our house in the summer so I haven't been as grateful as I should. I'd say that in this last week or so, I have been able to really see how fortunate I am. I mean, logically I knew I was fortunate but I wasn't really feeling it. It hit me last night while saying our bedtime prayers. Honey Bunny blessed our old house and this new place. I am blessed and grateful.

I am with you on this, there is so much more the be thankful for than to complain about!

Great post and cute pillows. I think everyone has their days when they just feel down and out about whatever is stressing them and that's okay, we all need time to vent once in a while as long as you gain command of your prospective once again.

Sounds like you are frustrated by the same household issues that irritate me. But that 'heart filling with love until I think I'll burst' sensation I get at least once a day from the wonderful little things my family say and do make those irritations insignificant. I love the James Patterson quote.

Kim, you're so right! Home is home, no matter what is going inside, you gotta clean, do dishes & laundry {worse part} but there's no place like home!

Yes. 100%. My husband's hometown was one of those hit by the freak tornadoes in Illinois over the weekend, so we're feeling especially grateful for our house right now.

I'm thankful for my home, too. Sometimes I look around and frown at the neighborhood or the yard or the mess...but our home last year wasn't as nice as this! Lots to be thankful for.

Beautiful post! You are so right. We are so blessed to have a home, chaos and all. There is no place I feel safer and more relaxed.

When we moved home from Mexico (2008), I found my heart aching all the time. I wanted to be back there.

Thankfully, I figured out pretty quickly that I was wasting all the time that I couldn't be there. I decided to be happy where I was and things have been great ever since. I'm trying not to get too excited that we're leaving (for Mexico) again in three weeks. I don't want to "waste away" 21 amazing days.

Thanks for linking up to my weekly Bloglovin linky (http://www.journeysofthezoo.com/2013/11/bloglovin-hop-november21.html). I always appreciate your support.
