Gratitude & Happiness

Being grateful can lead to being happy. I really do believe in that statement.

At difficult times in our lives, it might be really hard to find something to be grateful for, especially when we're angry at ourselves and angry at the world. But we can find so much in the little things of every day life that we can always be thankful for - we just have to let ourselves.

If you're having a bad day, take a few minutes to sit and clear your mind. Think about the small things you may have overlooked that actually weren't so bad at all. Or think about something in the recent past that made you smile.

Even on the worst of days, there is something that you can think of to turn your bad day into a better one. And if just those few minutes turn out to be the best thing that happened to you on that day, then it's a little piece of happiness that you hadn't had before. That makes it worth it.

Can you find your true happiness without gratitude?

We do overlook them sometimes, being thankful is so important!

Your right, we should definitely take the time to think about all the good things that's going on in our lifes whenever we're having a crappy day. :) Most of the time I like to write a "top 15" list of all the things I'm grateful for and that usually cheers me up!

I am grateful that I haven't been able to find a job, because I am available to help my mother when she needs me the most.

Thanks, I try to live by this same philosophy. I used to always pick up my son from school and have him tell me one good thing and one bad thing that happened that day then I would take my turn. Sometimes its just good to just say those things out loud and move on.

What a great post! And I agree! I try to find something to be grateful/thankful for everyday! No matter how bad it is, there is always a. Silver lining if you look for it.
