I'll Be Planking

It's been really hard for me to stay motivated with working out. Even though I started out the new year this January with goals, I quickly became sidetracked and lost sight of those goals. I haven't been gaining any more weight (which is good), but I haven't been losing any either.

In September, my daughter and I did the 30 Squat Challenge, and we both did pretty well with it, managing to stick to the calendar fairly well. After completing the challenge, I did nothing for October! I have no idea why. I need to get motivated again. Especially with the holidays coming up. I need to start sticking to a routine. I've got to get those goals back in my head - and keep them there. I want to get healthy and stay healthy.

So - in the name of 30 Day Challenges - I'm committing to the 30 Day Plank Challenge for November (and revisiting the squats too). Today is Day 5 - 40 seconds. Planks are actually fun for me, for some reason. When I had the Wii in the living room, planks would be my #1 pick for first play on Wii Fit. =0)

And before the 30 days are over, I'll be visiting 30 Day Fitness Challenge to choose another challenge for December. It's a great site for challenges and other fitness tips.

What do you do to stay motivated for exercise?

Cool challenge! I take a hip hop class on Monday and a belly dance class on Tuesday, then usually walk or bike the other days. I like exercising, I just need motivation to stay away from pasta. ;D

For fitness, I usually force myself to go outside, and run, or walk for an hour or so! :)

I think about you when I miss my "squat" days...quite often. I think about your challenge so I get my butt moving...really! Planks...well I have a difficult time with that. I have another reason to think of you now!

Great job!

Planks are rough! I have learned that I need to have a race or a pressing deadline to really stick to the plan. With upcoming dates to look forward to I feel more motivated with shorter obtainable goals and then a longer goal further on the horizon.
