Making Christmas Magic {The Visiting Elf: Product Review & GIVEAWAY}

Words for my Wednesday will resume next week. =0)
This product review was a little bit difficult to do, because my toddler daughter is with me at all times. But...I got it done! Make your Christmas magical with The Visiting Elf!

Wende contacted me about doing a product review for a very special Christmas item from her shop called The Visiting Elf. I jumped at the chance, because I really believe that Christmas is a magical time of year. When I received the package, though, I thought, "How am I going to do this review???" You see, the product is for a pair of stamps making elf footprints. I wanted to use these stamps for our Christmas morning, but I needed to do this review in time for you, all my lovely readers, to have a chance to purchase and be able to use your own sets! So...I did a trial run with my stamps - in my bedroom with closed doors and a blanket (since we have hardwood floors in my room) . I hope you enjoy this product review, and if you're looking for a fun way to celebrate and get the young ones in awe...This product is definitely for you!

The Visiting Elf is a shop that is all about "adding a bit more magic to Christmas, one step at a time."
This is from the shop's About Page on Etsy:
Imagine waking up to squeals of joy from your little ones a month before Christmas.
"Mom, Dad, an Elf has been in my room!" They say excitedly jumping onto your bed. "We have footprints all over our room, come see the Elf Prints!"
You pretend to be amazed as they show you where the Elf walked, jumped, and leaped around the room. "Do you think the elf was checking to see if I've been Naughty or Nice?"
"I don't know, but you better work on being extra good, looks like the Visiting Elves are watching." You say giving your little one a hug.
The Reality
The night before using your own Corn Starch or Baking Soda and Visiting Elf Stamps you set about making footprints around the kids room.

My toddler will be three years old, and I want to hear the squeals of joy!

This is what's in the package:
* 2 Elf Footprint Stamps (one right, one left)
* Decorative Christmas Bag for Storage
* Visiting Elf Story, author is shop owner Wende Lavinder (It's a great story about an elf named Makin Tracks who is a little different than other elves. Santa finds a special job for Makin, who becomes one of Santa's Visiting Elves.)
* Detailed directions for use and suggestions with helpful hints

It's super easy to make the footprints! I used about 4 tablespoons of corn starch and had tons of fun stamping up my queen-sized blanket while my daughter took her nap. I made some dark prints, and some lighter ones too. I imagined a little elf walking this way and that, and then I stamped accordingly, trying to create a scene. It was so much fun to do, and I can already imagine my toddler seeing these footprints and trying to figure out what they mean!

The stamps are very well made - sturdy and will last a long while. As I already mentioned, they are super easy to use. The detailed directions are awesome. They include "a little history" of the visiting elves and takes you through step-by-step instructions as to how to create the elf tracks. Plus, the decorative Christmas bag is really cute and a great way to keep your stamps hidden (just don't let the kiddos sneak peeks inside it).

The extra-added touch of including the Elf Story, written by Wende herself, really made the package beyond complete. The story is one that can be told over and over again, much like my favorite Christmas movies we watch each year during the holiday season. It has a great message and is written so well. I even suggest that Wende create some small handmade story books to include in her Etsy shop for sale (I haven't told her this yet, but I hope she reads it here - and I'll send her an email later).

Back to the tracks...
The elf tracks are really easy to clean up too; simply wipe the footprints away or vacuum them up! Easy peasy. To clean the stamps, you just wipe away the corn starch with a dry cloth. No hassle at all! Put them back in the bag for storage, and you're good to go!

If you have small kids and you want to make some Christmas magic, I really hope you'll visit The Visiting Elf and grab yourself a pair of footprint stamps. They're very affordable, priced at just $15 per set, and they will last many years. I honestly didn't know how much fun I would have (and it was just a trial use!) with these stamps.

For each set of footprint stamps purchased from this post, I will be donating a small toy to our local Toys for Tots. My daughter is distributing Toys for Tots gifts in our local area on Saturday, December 14th, so I'd love to give them a few extra wrapped Christmas gifts to include in their event. So hurry and check out Wende's shop, The Visiting Elf. If you make a purchase, let Wende know you came from 2justByou Blog and come back here and let me know in a comment.

Wende's also giving away a pair of footprint stamps to one lucky 2justByou Blog reader!!! You can WIN a set of stamps by filling out the Rafflecopter form below.

When my kids were little I put bunny tracks out for the Easter Bunny. They loved following them. I would love to do the same thing with my granddaughter for Christmas.

I love Christmas time and the kids learning to use their imagination. My son has been asking about elves and this would be perfect to show that sometimes you cannot see your elf.

Honestly, I do. Even though I know Santa is mythological. I wish he was real because I feel like it would be so awesome if it was. I just feel it. <3

My daughters are 3 and 4 so seeing little footprints would be more than Christmas magic to them, it would be enough holiday spirit to last a lifetime. I sometimes think, this may be even better for adults who need to remember to believe in Santa, his elves and the spirit of Christmas. Everyone deserves to have a little holiday magic and this is the perfect way to do it. My kids would love love love this.
