Our Christmas Tree

We put up our tree (finally), after having it waiting for us for almost a week. This year, I decided to showcase the kids' baby ornaments. One of our traditions is to have each child hang their baby ornament on the tree. It's what we used to do when I was a kid too. Although I don't have my baby ornament anymore (it got lost during a move), I like to have my kids hang their ornaments like I used to do.

The picture is a little fuzzy, but this is what our tree looked like with just the lights and no other decoration. It's our "before" photo.

This one is my oldest son's ornament. He had lots of Precious Moments baby items (a blanket, burp cloths, a quilt), so when we found this Precious Moments Christmas ornament, I knew it was what I wanted for him.

This one is Baby Girl's ornament, handmade by Etsy shop MiaBooo.

This one is my youngest son's. I remember that we got it from Target, and it was only $1! Great buy, right? The bottom of the ornament is a big jingle ball.

This one we had made at one of those carts in the shopping malls. My oldest daughter's original ornament was lost (with mine) during a move.

Our Christmas tree is also full of handmade ornaments by the kids. Some are from school and some are from what we make at home. We also like to buy an ornament or two each year to add to the collection. We have lots of vintage ornaments, from way back before even I was born, but this year, I didn't want to chance that they might be broken.

Do you have a Christmas tree put up? How do you decorate it?

Just posted to you on the wrong spot! I have a small tree with LED lights that constantly change once it's plugged in. It's just big enough to go on my window sill in my apartment - which couldn't house a bit tree like yours if it tried!

Your tree looks great. Special ornaments with a story are always the best :)
Unfortunately my tree won't be getting put up (again) this year. But I do have a few small decorations up.

Hey hun, these are so cute. You know I was born on Christmas Eve and the night I was born (10 mins before Xmas) The doctors and nurses gave my parents a Christmas ornament but my mom lost it :( I would have loved to have it now so I think personalized ornaments are a wonderful idea.

Very pretty. We decorate in a very similar way...My Kiddies each select ornaments every year and then they put those on the tree and get to look back on the ones they chose from prior years. It's really fun and will make great keepsakes wehn they get older.

Your tree is pretty! I didn't do it this year but my kids get a new ornament every year and we decorate with those and all the handmade ornaments. This year I decided to keep it simple and just did ribbon, white lights and colored balls. I'm sure we'll go back to normal tradition next year and Hanna Montana, the Red Power Ranger, Tom & Jerry, etc. will all be back! Lol!

Lovely Christmas tree! I gave my kids their first Christmas ornaments when they moved out.
I haven't put ours up yet. We decorate our tree with memories of our travels and gifts from friends/family (many are handmade). Every year is a trip down memory lane.
