Let's get to the Q&A!!!
Question: How did you choose your Etsy shop name?
I write a blog called Books, Beauty & Bars on a Budget and I knew I wanted to sort of tie that into the name of my Etsy shop. The letter B was obviously a huge part of my blog name, so I figured I'd name my shop Bthree!
Question: How and why did you start creating your fabric button earrings?
I have always been crafty. I love the process of creating something on your own, and so I was constantly reading craft blogs and finding projects that I liked. I saw these earrings somewhere and immediately went to a craft store to get supplies. I made a few for myself and began wearing them around. In the beginning, my friends and family began asking me to make them some and offered to compensate me. I refused money because I honestly loved making them and didn't want to accept payment for it. I had tons of fabric left over after making them for friends and family, and decided the best way to use it and start making my money back from buying all the supplies was so open my own shop! It has been pretty successful in the first year, and I've even gotten a few wholesale orders as well! I still love making them, and I don't think it will ever get old :) I truly enjoy finding new fabrics, making the earrings, and interacting with customers every day.
Question: What are your favorite fabrics and colors to work with?
My favorite fabrics are not too thin, but not too thick, and easy to cut. It's sort of difficult choosing fabrics that I think will work best when making earrings, so when I find that perfect fabric that isn't see-through, but isn't too thick, I get super excited. I absolutely love working with preppy colors that go together, like pink & navy or white & gold. I'm constantly on the lookout for printed fabrics that I can turn into cute earrings.
Question: What's your favorite iced coffee flavor? And how about your favorite shade of Essie nail polish?
My all-time favorite iced coffee is the Dunkin Donuts Hazelnut flavor. However, I can drink almost any flavor of iced coffee and be happy! Right now, my favorite shade of Essie is "Bobbing for Baubles" because it's the perfect winter color, but my all-time favorite would have to be "Master Plan", because it's very understated and appropriate for any occasion.
Question: Since Valentine's Day is coming up shortly...What is your idea of the perfect date night?
Here's what she said:
I've had several Valentine's Days without a boyfriend, and a few with a boyfriend, and I have to say I like both. The perfect date night would be dinner at MY favorite restaurant (V-day is all about the girl, right?!), and a fun activity after like a walk through a pretty part of town or drinking wine and watching a movie. Elaborate dates put to much pressure on the situation, and I'm all about simplicity!
I hope you had a great time getting to know the creator!
