Accessories are [one of] Girl's Best Friends

What completes an outfit? Ladies, we all know the answer - besides shoes, it's accessories that make the outfit. Am I right? A girl can never ever ever have too many accessories. And that goes for hair accessories too.

Enter Halo Havenn, a new Etsy shop offering unique handmade headbands!

My 3 year old is LOVING the sparkly Halo Havenn headbands. I had a whole mess of photos to share, but then those photos were on a memory card that was ruined. We didn't have enough time to get shots of my older daughter wearing her headbands, so my toddler will just have to do for now.

The headbands are little difficult to put on, because you have to tie them. But once you get used to it (or once my lil girl stays still long enough), it's no big deal at all. It's actually nice, because you can adjust the fit. This means that both my toddler and my teenager can get use out of one Halo Havenn headband. No matter how big or small your head, a Halo Havenn headband will fit. Pretty cool, right? That's part of what makes them unique. Another thing is that the headbands are suede cord. So for dark haired cuties, it's barely visible at all, which makes it kind of neat too.

I can't wait to take some more pictures to show you the other ways you can wear a Halo Havenn headband too. You'll have to stay tuned for that, though.

Here's our Q&A session with Liz, owner & creator of Halo Havenn. Enjoy!

Question: We love the name of your shop! How did you come up with the name and why the special spelling with an extra "n" at the end?

Glitter Pink Lindsie Headband

Halo Havenn (HH) -- I love halo headbands but have always had problems wearing them because they hurt my head. Haven to me means safe which is how i came up with the name Halo Havenn -- safe headbands. The extra N is for good luck :)

Question: How did you get started making your halos?
HH -- I started making Halos for myself and close friends and family. I had recieved so much support and encouragement from my friends/family that I decided to expand to etsy to see if other people would enjoy them as much as I do.
Green Carly B+ - Perfect for St. Patrick's day!

Question: What are your favorite colors to work with for upcoming spring?

HH -- For upcoming spring I am working with a pink and black story I'm extremely excited -- currently on our site is the JESS which is an early spring style, expect more halos along these color lines in the next few months.

Question: What is the biggest thing you want your customers to know about you as a creator or your halos as a product?

HH -- I hand make all of my halo headbands myself. I treat each with love and care as if i were making it for myself.

And to get to know you as the creator:
Question: Do you consider yourself a daydreamer?

HH -- I like to think of myself as a believer. But I guess some would call that daydreaming :)

Question: How would you spend the day if you could do anything in the world?
HH -- relaxing on the beach in the sun with one of my halos and a good book -- I'm so over this cold NY Winter.

Question: Do you prefer coffee, tea, or neither? What's your favorite flavor?
HH -- I enjoy both coffee and tea depending on the day/time. I am obsessed with the Starbucks Caramel Brulee Late -- or anything caramel :)

They look gorgeous, and what a great point about being able to adjust them. I have a lot of ordinary headbands I have to take off after about an hour because after a while they hurt my head. I agree about relaxing on the beach, would love to be on a warm beach right now too!

So pretty! I still want to know how to make that type of bow.. I must have spent an hour looking up vids on YouTube the other day but can't find one that's any good!

That is great that you can adjust them. I have head bands that are too tight and some that get too loose after being on my head for a while.

Love the sparkly headbands! And it's great that you can adjust them because, like another comment mentioned, headbands are usually either too big or too small. It would be nice to have one you could make "just right".

My daughters love sparkly headbands! I like the idea of being able to tie the head band which prevents it from falling off. #ProductReviewParty
