Week in Review {via Instagram}

With taxes being due next week (yes, I've been a procrastinator) and a busy week this week (College Info & Parents of Juniors night at the high school, Open House at the elementary school & a multicultural performance to attend), I need to get moving on my number crunching! So today, I share some Life Lately photos via Instagram, our week in review.

Remember #weekbackup? I kind of miss those #weekbackup posts I used to do with my fave twins, Noor and Areeba. The twins are on blog break, because they're hard at work studying (hit those books, ladies!), but they'll soon be back in the blogosphere, I'm sure.

So, here we go...This is what our week looked like in photos.

Last weekend we went out for some Frozen Yogurt. We hadn't done this in a really long time. I had mine with mochi. Love this stuff! So much. Don't know what mochi is? It's a Japanese rice cake dessert. My kids love it. I love it. They like the ice cream mochi variety too, which is like little ice cream mochi-covered balls. My favorite flavor of those is mango. But my favorite is the multi-colored mochi as shown above on top of my FroYo. It's small. Just the right tiny-bite-sized pieces. Especially on top of frozen yogurt. I think we first had mochi at a sushi place. I can't really remember, now that I try and think of it.

My daughter went to the nail salon for the first time ever this week. The lady did them a little bit too long for her, but they turned out looking pretty good. Then my daughter needed to have them painted green and gold (more on the reason behind the color combo to come in a future post). She went in wanting sparkle gold tips, but she came out with gold polka dots? Ultimately, she wasn't too impressed by the nail place. I think she prefers DIY.

I love guacamole! Nevermind that I'm slightly allergic to avocados. I suffer through it sometimes, because - well, it's just SO worth it. I made a ton of it earlier this week (even gave some away to neighbors). All fresh, organic ingredients...It was really tasty. Do you like guacamole?

My daughter's school had a College Info & Parents of Juniors night. They had a few college representatives come and speak about options for higher education (Community Colleges, California State Universities, and University of California schools). After that, they discussed senior activities, and even graduation! It was a little bit of an eye-opener for me, making me realize that my baby will be going to college soon. Yikes! I'm just not ready for that! Let's change the subject already.

Baby Girl got some brand new purple flip flops this week and couldn't wait to wear them! They're her new favorite thing. She finally put her rubber rain boots on the shelf (didn't even rain that much, but she was wearing them quite often for the past few days - before she got these cool purple flip flops, that is). She is such a girly girl. Loves shoes, nail polish, and all things princess.

I didn't snap any shots of the Open House, but that was awesome too. Open House is always a fun time, because it's always great to see how much the kids have grown over the school year. My youngest son, for example, loves writing - and even some reading now. It's amazing, because at the start of the year (and for the past two years of schooling he's had), he didn't like reading more than three sentences at a time! I'm being serious. Open House is an opportunity to see all the hard work the kids have done, and the hard work and dedication that the teachers have endured too.

So how was your week? Tell me all about it!
Hhhmmm...for being a "quick" post, this turned out be a little lengthy! Yeah, did I mention it was a busy week?
Thanks for visiting. I hope you have an awesome weekend!

My week was great! My daughters were on Spring Break and spent time at their Grandmother's house and I had time to myself. YAY!

Kim, you need to tell me where you live so I can move next door to you. I would love some of that guac! And good luck to your daughter on the college apps. It's a rough time and it's so much work! I was in her position just 4 years ago.

And I'm getting the sense you live in Cali from all the schools you mentioned. I'm visiting in a couple of weeks, maybe i'll bump into you :P

Yum...that guacamole looks so good! And your nails look great too. As much as I love color, a nice french manicure is always great!

You guacamole looks delicious! I love avocados too, and it would make me very sad to be allergic.

Your nails look so elegant. Your daughter's match my high school colors - I'm very curious to find out why she chose them!
