Summer Skies

I will seriously be missing the summer night time skies and sunsets.

With the kids going back to school much sooner rather than later, I thought I'd share some sunset shots from this summer with you. If you have any of your own to share, please leave the link in a comment. I'd love to check it out. I've been slightly obsessed with the summer skies this season.

A view from inside the car.

This picture doesn't do the pink sky any justice.

Sunset in SoCal

This one I even used as my twitter cover photo for awhile. =0)
Awesome sunset collage (photo cred goes to my daughter, who created this).

This summer literally flew by me in what seems like an instant. The 2014 - 2015 school year is my oldest daughter's Senior Year, and it's going to be bittersweet. It actually already is for me. I'm excited for her to explore college options and graduate high school. At the same time, I'm terrified of having her go off to college and be the independent young woman I know she is - possibly many, many miles away from me! So this is what they mean when they say letting go isn't easy.

But as mothers, we have to learn to let our young ones spread their wings and fly on their own, discovering who they are, all that they are capable of, and finding the way to their dreams. All we can do is hope that we have taught them well and be supportive in every way.

Oh summer skies, how I miss you already! My last full summer with my daughter before she goes off to be a big girl in a big world...

What will you be missing most about the summer season?
If you're a 2justByou Blog Fan, you might have seen this question already, as I asked this question on this facebook post last week too as a sneak peek preview of what was to come. =0)

What beautiful sky photos! I love the one with the palm trees as well! I love when I happen to catch the sunrise or sunset on a whim. I just happen to look out the window and there it is...stops me in my tracks every time!
Best of luck with your daughter and her senior year...such a big year!

Such wonderful shots :)

I totally get when you say the photo doesn't do the pink justice, I have that happen a lot, with all the photos I take, but it still looks amazing :)

Wishing you well with senior year and everything it includes.

All of my 3 went off to college, one in State, one in a State 3,000 miles away and another went to a different country; skype is the only way I could cope. I raised them to be independent and adventurous and what do they do, they all return home at the end. If that is any consolation (mainly because they all graduated when the economy tanked :(

They have been slowly leaving and returning, they don't call them the Boomerang generation for nothing, lol :) T.

I love sunsets too. My oldest starts kindergarten this school year. If this letting go part is a little sad I can't imagine college. Wishing you the best this school year.

Stunning skies! I look forward to fall, my favorite season, but will miss going to the outdoor pool.

That sunset collage photo set your daughter took is awesome! You should get it printed on canvases and hang them together!
