Time and Love {Words for my Wednesday}

Fifteen days until Christmas, and usually we have our tree up and decorated by now. Sad to say, but this year, I think we're going with a smaller scale decorating scheme. It just came too quickly, and I've been unprepared for everything this year, so it seems.

Even though our tree might be smaller this year, and we might not decorate the whole house as usual, it's important to remember what really matters during the holiday season and all year round. The best thing about Christmas time is the time spend with family!

There's supposed to be a big storm hitting our area today. I mean, BIG. They've given us weather warnings since Sunday - that's how big. We could be getting up to five inches of rain, which means more flash flood warnings and other hazards. We might be without power, so everyone is stocking up their Storm Kits, just in case. We went to Target to find some flashlights, and they were sold out! And look at the long Target checkout line here. It was crazy! It felt like Black Friday or something.

Anyway, I might be offline for the next couple days if we lose power. Hopefully we keep our power, though. (We did find some flashlights too!) I hope you'll still swing by for the Growing Circles Hop tomorrow.

And - It's a great time to join us at WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY Blog Hop, if you haven't already.

And a brand new giveaway event went live during the night. You're gonna love it - it's a VISA gift card giveaway, with sixteen winners!!! Get the deets and enter HERE.

Have a great Wednesday, and Happy Holidays to you!!!

I completely agree some people loose sight of what Christmas and some holidays are really about. It's always good to step back and remember that. I love the quote.

I feel like Christmas is coming up quicker than I am ready for it also. I am trying to have my kids help decorate a little, and as long as they enjoy themselves and remember the spirit of the season, I am happy.

I am so not ready for Christmas myself. Had a lot of things financially get in my way of buying presents this year. Nice to know I'm not the only one. But, my kids are healthy and I am healthy, so for that, I'm thankful.

Simple and sweet, love it! I can't wait for Christmas...the only thing sad about it is that it's only one day lol.

I hope the storm doesn't cause too much damage.
Love and laughter are the foundations of my world. Every day.

I agree! Christmas is about spending time with family and friends. It's not just about presents and Santa.

That is the most important thing about Christmas and all holidays -- and every day for that matter. In all of the hustle and bustle of life people tend to lose sight of what is important.

Thank goodness! You made me feel much better! I am so very behind and cannot believe how close everything is! I am taking your message to heart and just enjoying the time with family! Thanks so much for your wonderful words!

It's so important to stay focused on what is really important...family and giving of oneself...not just buying things!

I know I commented about this on FB too. But now I've read the whole thing. This is so true! People need to concentrate on family at Christmas. With my daughter being in jail, that's all I can think about. I hope I help people with my posts. Addiction is hell for the whole family. Thanks for this post!

We have four bins of Christmas decorations and only unpacked half of one this year. We still are knee-deep in boxes from moving so we just don't have the room or space to full on decorate. Hopefully next year!

I couldn't agree with you anymore. I truly think time spent with the family is special.

I have scaled down everything this year, especially the number of gifts that I'm giving. My family is just going to be stuck spending time with me if they like it or not.

Family is definitely the most important part of Christmas. I hope the forecasted storm is not as bad as they are saying. Losing power is the worst. One year my house was without power for 3 days due to an ice storm. My fingers are crossed for you!

Christmas is not Christmas without family!

We haven't started decorating either, and I feel like it's already nearly here! What happened?! So ours will probably be pretty low-key,too. Stay safe if that storm hits!

It's so true to keep in mind what is really important about holidays....not about finding THE perfect gift (I've spent too much time doing that!) or decorating the house inside and out, but about celebrating together and being grateful!

It's far too easy to forget the most important part of Christmas in all the hustle to get the tree, decorate the house, get the presents, get/make the food, etc. We'll be having a big family Christmas for the first time in about five years, so I'm really looking forward to spending time with everyone. I hope the storms aren't wreaking too much havoc on you, keep safe!

I agree, Christmas just came way too quick this year. 10 days til Christmas and I have absolutely none of my decorations up, much less our tree. It's just been one of "those" kinda years, but I'll definitely make up for it next year.

I am also not decorating with as much Christmas decorations as usual. There just has not been enough time.
