Boost it Up {Co-Hosting the Boost Your Facebook Post Party}

Welcome to the
Boost Your FACEBOOK Post Party!
This is the LAST party in this series for a while.
Our party is being put to rest so that Sinea of Ducks 'n a Row can shift over to a new Facebook endeavor which begins TUESDAY....stay tuned!

For starters, here's Sinea has learned from all of this:
1) Liking, commenting and ESPECIALLY sharing Facebook posts works. More fans will see them.
2)  Facebook posting parties are a good idea. Team work!
3) Facebook INTEREST groups are a GREAT idea. I am a member of two active Facebook interest groups and we give each other's posts attention every day. Our numbers improve greatly on those posts. We even pin, G+, Tweet etc. Wonderful.
4) It's great to have lots of good online friends .... like you! It truly is all about community and, from the bottom of my heart, I thank you. ♥

So, since this is the last party, feel free to share as many Facebook posts as you want to! Just be sure to visit at least 2 other posts to boost them for every post you share with us. (So, if you share 4 posts, boost 8 others, etc.)  Feel free to boost many more. Let's make this a grand finale!!!

Thanks to our wonderful co-hosts!
Please follow them ...

G+ Growing Circles hop #24

Let's share our content!
It's time to party.

Interested in Co-Hosting?
Send an email to 2justByou(AT)gmail(DOT)com with "G+ Hop Co-Host" in the subject line and include your blog and G+ links for consideration. We'd love to have you!

Don't forget to use and search our party hashtag!

To make the most of this link party, please follow the rules below.
1. You MUST add your hosts and co-hosts to one of your circles before linking up.
2. Link up your personal Google+ profile, blog or business G+ pages but NOT your blog URL.
3. Share ONE post ONLY - (new or old) on G+ and use the hashtag #GrowingCirclesHop
4. Connect with others by clicking on your #growingcircleshop hashtag. Engage with at least 2-3 others by a Share, +1 or Comment.
5. Add new friends to your circles.
6. Grab a button for your blog, if you'd like. Help us spread the word so we can keep trending on Google Plus each week! (You can edit size to fit your blog in the code).
Mommy Mentionables

Throughout the next 12 hours, check back on G+ and +1 posts with the hashtag #growingcircleshop.

Google+ Tips

The real participation comes with sharing a blog post to G+ using the party's hashtag and engaging with others who are also sharing posts from this party. Interaction and engaging with others on G+ will bring you the most success! You will notice some posts have a very large picture associated with their post and others have a tiny picture. To increase your chances of being shared, post a photo along with your post link and NOT the tiny one that gets posted automatically with the link. The bigger and more clear your photo, the better chance of it being shared because those are the posts that G+ users want to share with their followers.

Be Kind {Words for my Wednesday}

I've been making it a point to take trips to the beach this year, because we haven't been to the beach in ages, and it's one of our favorite places to go. Not to mention - it doesn't break the bank!

At our recent visit to the beach, we picked up some trash around the BBQ areas that was left behind by other visitors. It's important to teach our kids that we need to protect our Mother Earth. Littering (anywhere) is just unkind. We need to take care of the earth and the ocean. They're important.

Remember that garbage in the ocean has terrible consequences for the animals that live there, and in turn, for us too.

So, wherever your travels may take you this summer season (if even to your neighborhood park or a walk around the block), please be kind to the environment. We thank you in advance. =0)

Purple Ombre Hair

By now we probably all know that as far as colors go, I love all shades of blue. But purple is a really close second favorite for me - almost all shades. So when my oldest daughter asked to get her hair done in purple ombre, I said, "Cool. Let's do it."

We made an attempt months ago, and it didn't turn out so well. We tried to do it ourselves, at home, and the result was a really light lavender. Not the deep purple she had wanted. The color also disappeared within just a few days, tops. It was a big disappointment for both of us. (I guess it's a good thing doing hair is not my day job.)

She's had ombre hair before (a nice shade of red), and that was her first time ever messing with her "virgin hair." Since then, we've only made the one attempt that was an epic fail (on my part, but at least I tried). She lived with the fail for months, but her Senior Portraits are later on this afternoon. So we did it. We splurged, and I took her to the hair salon yesterday (and it was a bit of a surprise for her). She got a badly needed trim, and the hair dresser re-bleached her hair and did the ombre.

This is how it turned out:

Under the Shade Tree

In Full Sun Light

The hair dresser also styled it with big, loose curls. Of all the times I've curled hair, I've never been able to get these kind of curls! Do you know how to do it? Got a video tutorial I could watch? Just point me in the direction, and I'll try it out!

Wish us luck at the session for her Senior Portraits. The reality of her actually being a high school senior will probably kick in for me tomorrow - and in high gear...I hope I don't cry...

So what do you think? Do you like the purple ombre hair?

First Summer Weekend

How I spent the first [official] summer weekend:

I sat down at the computer in the morning and realized it was the first official day of summer. #SummerSolstice2014

Sent out this tweet, with the sun shining through the window behind me:
...And thought to myself, "What am I doing sitting here inside and at the computer???"

I told the kids to get ready, because I decided to take my own twitter advice and we're going outside to play!!!

I had them pack stuff for the beach and told them to bring extra clothes. I secretly packed a tent and some camping gear (just in case). And we took off. We spent a great afternoon at the beach. And it was our first time ever camping (and yes, it took us a long time setting up the tent - we won't get into that. I'll just say it's nice that we had friendly neighbors who happened to be camping experts).

We had bought a bunch of camping gear years ago, and we just never did put it to use. It was doing no good collecting dust in the garage! It was time. We weren't completely prepared - forgot flashlights, chairs, bug repellent and some other essentials, but oh well. It was super fun!

Outside our tent, this was our view:

And this is the view we woke up to in the morning.

What did you do over the weekend?

Finding the URL is fast changing, as well (Facebook seems to be changing all the time!)
If your fan-page is still on the old format -it became old just a couple of weeks ago- then all you have to do is go to the top of your admin page, find the post listed under "Page Manager", click on it and use that URL.

The NEW interface is just a matter of clicking on the photo/image that you used in your post. Use the URL at the top of the page  -it is really, really long but it works.

Thanks to our wonderful co-hosts!
They would love it if you'd follow them ...

Quotes for Grads

My oldest son graduates from 6th grade today. On a Friday the 13th. Not that I'm superstitious so much, but I'm sure the kids will always remember they had a graduation day on a Friday the 13th.

And after today, I'll have a middle schooler. Again. Here we go...

With all of the end of school year festivities and the buzz about graduation, I didn't have time to complete the post that was originally to be published today. So instead, I've got a round up of some of my favorite graduation quotes.

Do you have any words of wisdom that you would give to an elementary school student entering middle school? Leave them in a comment. I'd love to read them!
