Google Plus Tip of the Week at #GrowingCirclesHop No. 58

The goal of Growing Circles Hop has always been to use Google+ and network while growing our circles and learning how to use it (and use it well), and grow with it.

We are Google+ advocates, because we realize the power it can have for SEO - both for bloggers and small businesses.

Last time we partied together we started talking about the importance of circles.

We had decided then, based on information of Google+ making changes and anticipating Google Streams, that we would hold off on our party. But we have newer information that Google+ is not changing right now, not yet. So we should and WILL continue using it as normal. When changes are rolled out, we'll be notified, and we'll all be in it together, learning as we go. So thanks for re-joining us this week as we're back in action with #GrowingCirclesHop!

This week we have a testimonial from our host Sinea, from Ducks 'n a Row. Here's her discovery:

It all started when my blog "threw up" on my most viewed kids post. E is for Elephant Preschool Craft. I have over 5000 views and get at least 200 or more per week. All of a sudden it lost its brains. I had to recreate the whole thing.

While I was getting my best post over its "illness", I was wishing that its sister-post -- E is for Elephant Preschool GAME - was just as popular. So I went to Google+ to create a post to promote it. THEN I SAW IT.  There were circles in the drop down box that had just appeared out of nowhere (Google puts them there ????? ) that were all preschool-friendly. One has over 19,000 G+ users on it. This tool is POWERFUL!!!

We all need to keep building our reach. I cannot imagine that they will drop it and start fresh. My hope is they will make it all the better. So, go for it!!! Let's party!!! post is no longer "sick."
You can use these Interest Circles to share a specific blog post or product with a more targeted audience, as opposed to just sharing publicly for everyone. In Sinea's case, she has a preschool post. She can click the preschool-friendly Interest Circle from that drop-down menu she mentions and share her post directly to all the members of that specific circle.

Stay with us next week, as we'll be expanding on the issue of Interest Circles, Circle Categories, and what you can do with these Circles.

Don't forget to use the party hashtag:

Thanks for the party again! Glad you're back. I'll have to look for those drop down menus. I haven't seen them yet.

Great tip! Google+ always yells at me for reaching my circle limit so the people I haven't followed back yet are not my fault. :(
