You Lead Me, I'll Lead You {Words for my Wednesday & Project Lead Kindly}

Today's Words for my Wednesday...

Sometimes our problems may seem so huge that we doubt ourselves and what we are capable of accomplishing. Problems can push us to a place where we feel there is no hope for the future. But through it all, we have to stay strong.

In times like this, you might just need someone to show you that there's still a way to have hope that was lost and that there's still a life full of possibilities. You can't forget about your dreams because you've run into problems along the way. You can't lose hope because you've hit rock bottom. It's easy to get stuck. It's easy to give up. It's not easy to keep going. It's not easy to stay strong. But once you find a little motivation and inspiration to get out of that rut that you're in, you can go places. You can be led by your dreams.

And wherever you go, go with all your heart.

This month we're participating in a fundraising auction for Project Lead Kindly (PLK) to help support women succeed in life after surviving domestic violence and/or are victims of homelessness in the Southern California area.

Three items from our shop justByou will be up for grabs, with 100% of the proceeds going to this new non-profit organization founded by a fellow blogger, Pamela from MacDonald's Playland

Project Lead Kindly has a very meaningful mission:

"Project Lead Kindly provides charitable service and grants to mothers and children affected by homelessness and domestic violence. We are on a mission to uplift, encourage, and inspire everyone to realize their great potential to serve and lead kindly, no matter their circumstances."

And another message for everyone, from PLK's website:

"To all who volunteer, donate, or assist in forwarding our mission, and to all who come in contact with Project Lead Kindly, our hope is that you feel inspired to make "leading kindly" a consistent part of your life. There may be times when you feel you cannot do anything to help yourself, your family, or others. We are on a mission to help you see that great potential within you & that you can always make a difference."

If you've been following my blog for awhile, you'll know that I strongly believe in community service, helping others, and spreading the word about important issues. This is a brand new non-profit, and I love what they area doing! From the moment I read the mission statement, I knew that this would be one of the charities that we support. An organization that wants to "uplift, encourage, and inspire everyone to realize their great potential to serve and lead kindly, no matter their circumstances" - that's an organization that has heart. That's Project Lead Kindly.

The items chosen for the auction are all featured here on the blog today. Each item was chosen with meaning, hoping to inspire others to lead kindly in their daily lives and stay strong even when you might feel you are weak. And the last one, shown below, was chosen because the name of this non-profit and its vision reminds me of lyrics to a song from my childhood days:

" Lead me. Guide me. Walk beside me. Help me find the way."

Having someone remind you that all hope is not lost can make all the difference in the world, especially at a dark time in life full of despair. My kids and I have a great support system within our family. We have people that will remind us we are stronger than we think when times are tough and that we'll get through it and be better & stronger because of it. Not all people have that.

I want to lead kindly with compassion. I want to do my part to make a difference for someone, somewhere. I hope that you are inspired to want to do the same.

The auction is set for March 16th - March 21st, 2015 - and it's only on Instagram. If, however, you would like to make a monetary donation, you can do so at the PLK website HERE.

Each of the items shown here today will be in the auction with Project Lead Kindly. If you would like to purchase and order these items apart from the auction, that can be arranged as well.
Send an email to: 2justByou(at)gmail(dot)com, and we'll set it up for you with proceeds going to PLK (limited quantities).

You lead me. I'll lead you.
Together, we can make it through.

What a beautifully thought out blog post. Everyone needs to be reminded why they're here every one-in-a-while and for someone that's had a lot of negative thoughts recently, it's lovely to read something positive.

I hope the auction raises a lot of money!

Beautiful post Kim! So inspiring. I used to volunteer for a non profit that helped domestic abuse victims find shelter and get them back on their feet. It was a great experience.
