Some Good Reads & Etsy Finds {What I'm Loving Lately}

It's time for Friday Favorites. I'm re-naming it What I'm Loving Lately for this time around, because these links I share with you today are links to some good reads that really make you think (at least, they really made me think, and I'm almost certain that they will make you think too).

With all the hustle and bustle of daily life and chaos, I took a little bit of time this week to visit some of my favorite blogs and read. Some of these blogs I haven't visited in quite awhile. You know, it's just how it goes. I can't always visit daily, or even weekly, no matter how much I would like to do just that.

Anyway, some of the places I visited had reads that were just too good not to share. So here they are...

It's incredible how one person's story can really reach out and have an impact on others. I'm not so great at sharing so much personal information - online or offline. I'm way too good at keeping things all bottled up inside, even though I know I shouldn't. When I hop around to different blogs and read the writings of amazing people, it really inspires me. To be inspired, to be moved, to know that everyone has a story to tell and struggles to overcome - that means something, and it can be a powerful thing. It can also be a reminder for us to be grateful.   Click to read, and be ready for a gut-wrenching, heart-warming story of How To Save A Life by Sandy from An Honest Sinner.

Finding a healthy work/life balance is really hard to do. Many bloggers and small business owners are frequent users of social media. Social media may have started out for personal use and intentions, but it's come a very long way. Social media and the online world can consume a person. When your work involves the internet, websites and social media, it's really difficult to distinguish the fine lines of work and home, especially when you work at home. Melissa of Bubby and Bean shares her deep Thoughts on the Effect of Blogging and Social Media on Being Present.

If you're a regular reader, you know that I'm pretty big on doing my best to spread the social good. I love charity work and supporting great causes. When I visited my buddy Shane over at Sea Salt Secrets (aside from suffering from wanderlust - happens each time I visit) and learned about Red My Lips, I knew I would have to share it.

And there we have it. These are my top three good reads from this week. You can always visit my Pinterest board for Blog Posts to Check Out, where I've pinned lots of good reads (these three included). There are some random bits of awesomeness there too, but mostly it's just a bunch of good reads. =0)

And here are some other things I'm loving lately...

Such a simple piece of beauty!

Earth Day will soon be here, and this is made from recycled hardware!

Baby Girl is so into flowers and would probably love this.

I think I really do need one of these!

So what are you loving lately?

Blogs and social media amazes me. So much good comes from it where we can connect with others on similar issues, support each other, teach, learn and I think most important is what you mention about charity. Now more then ever, it is easy to help in so many ways. I love opportunities where I can donate something I made to be auctioned off for a cause. Beautiful selections you have chosen to show here.

Awesome finds, Kim! Now I know where to go if I want to read something good (to your Pinterest board, of course!).

I do not have time to brows too many blogs these days... too busy playing with cubes, lego and a ball outside :)

My biggest find lately is Instagram :) This is what I am loving now :)

I'm kind of loving that mailing day bag and the dragonfly flower press! I also thought poutting those metal brackets together in such a way as to form a chevron was pretty cool! Kudos to all. Thanks for sharing!
