Be an Outcast {Outcast Jewelry Feature & GIVEAWAY (US, ends 6/12/15)}

Today is a special day. My daughter graduates from high school. It's a lifetime milestone. A day to remember. The end of an era, and the beginning of a new one.

I welcome the day bittersweetly, because this is my baby girl. Not Baby Girl, my four-year-old preschooler, but my first born. My baby. The first one to ever call me mom.

My eyes well up with tears as I even type this, because there is so much that I wanted to write to her and for her on this special day.
Instead, with a jam-packed schedule and not enough time to collect all my thoughts, I offer an Etsy Feature and Giveaway for you all - my amazing readers. This Etsy Feature showcases a fellow metal hand stamper, like my daughter. And my daughter thinks of herself as quite the outcast at times, going against the norm, so I thought this would be the perfect feature for today.

Introducing Ashley, owner/creator of Outcast Jewelry!

My name is Ashley Brown, I'm 25 years old, I own Outcast Jewelry in Reno, Nevada. I've always been inspired by quotes and sayings and love jewelry! So when I saw metal stamped jewelry I thought it was so cool that you could put your favorite words on jewelry and wear them! I was curious about how they were made so I looked into it and was surprised to find out that it was done by hand and not a machine. I've always liked making things so I decided to try it. I started making and designing my own jewelry and really enjoyed it. My mom is an artist and she makes a living by selling really beautiful mosaics at arts and craft fairs. I took a leap of faith and signed up for my first show. It began as a way to make extra money, but I was pretty unhappy at my day job, so I decided to leave it and make my full time job making and selling my jewelry! I couldn't be happier with my decision!

I sell at a lot of craft fairs in Reno, Truckee, and Tahoe. With summer coming up I have a lot of fun arts and crafts fairs that I will be selling at.

Favorite thing about spring:
I love the weather warming up and getting excited for summer!

Hobbies, besides creating jewelry:
I love to spend time with my handsome husband of 5 years! be outside. We love to hike, go camping and going to the lake. We also love finding new projects and working on them together.

Ashley's favorite quote:
"Run from what's comfortable. Forget safety. Live where you fear to live. Destroy your reputation. Be notorious."
-Rumi

Here hand stamped pieces are wonderful! I know all too well that fantastic feeling of having quit working to be your own boss full time! It is awesome that Ashley was able to do so at such a young age.

Yes, I understand the bittersweetness of graduation day. My only child graduated 10 years ago this May. I would have Inner-Peace stamped on my keychain because it's something I've been working on lately. Thank-you!

I'm torn between two ideas. I would like to have my initials (heart) my husbands initials. Or, I would like LISTEN. I love your ETSY shop. :)

I visited Outcast Jewelry on Etsy and I would have stamped on my keychain, "Not all those who wander are lost". That quote describes my outlook on my life and that of others.
