Time Really Does Fly {Words for my Wednesday}

I posted this on instagram this morning, and it's the Words for my Wednesday post here on the blog too. It's just the biggest thought that's been running through my mind this entire month of May...

I just want to be able to freeze a few moments in time, taking it all in. But it seems that everything is in fast forward mode right now.

I can remember looking forward to each birthday when I was little. First I couldn't wait to be eight, then 10, then 13, then 16 and 18. Little milestone ages that I had made for myself to look forward to back then.

I remember back when it was my high school graduation time, and how it couldn't come quickly enough. Right? We all want to hurry and grow up when we're young, but then we get older, and we realize that life isn't always better in the fast lane.

Slow down. Live your life enjoying the little moments.
Because, even when you don't want it to, time really does fly.

Do you have a favorite quote, saying or words you would like to share with me?
Please do with a blog comment! I'd love to read them.

I completely agree with you! Summer time used to last forever, and the time between Christmas's and Birthday's was an incredibly long wait!! Now, it seems like everything is happening all in a week!!!

Indeed it does! That's why I love taking some time out for myself each week just to enjoy nature.

I completely relate. The time just seems to go by quicker as we get older! I thought transitioning to self employment, working from home would slow things down for me. It has had the opposite effect!

I remember reading about how time feels like it is speeding up if they days have the same schedule. Our mind goes into a routine but if we change up what we do then time seems to slow down as our minds have to be active to think about what is going on

Slow time (down time) is integral to my grasp on sanity.

I've read it first "June really does fly" - Oh, my... June? I've never noticed that it has even started! :)

I think it's important to not try to spend time efficiently but to spend time purposefully when I read thoughts like these. Time doesn't stop for anyone and making sure those days, weeks, years count is what's important. Just leaving some of my thoughts in the comments. :)

I never realized how fast time goes until I had children. It's seems as though it sped up to warp speed since then.

It's crazy how quick time flies! I thought it would go by so much slower after college, but it's gone by so much quicker!

I do agree with you 100% on the time fly by so fast lately. I think older you get faster it spins!!! My favorite quote : " I love my past. I love my present. I'm not ashamed of what I've had, and I'm not sad because I have it no longer! "

Now that I'm a mom, I can so related to people saying that time passes quickly. It's insane to me how fast the weeks go by. I feel like the quote "The days are long but the years are short" nails it.

So true!! Time flies when you're having fun, but so slow when you want it fast. Sometimes I would just love to fast forward the days I'm at work, then slow it down when I'm on vacation. lol

Time goes by even faster once you become an empty nester. I always thought ones the kids are out of the home, I would have so much more time. For some odd reason , the week is over before I know it! By the way my favorite quote is "How do we change the world? With one act of random kindness each day!
