Taking a step back from blogging and the online world of social media and e-commerce, there was a lot more time for other things. I love what I do with our small business, and I love all that it has taught me along the way, but I was getting burnt out and didn't even realize it!
Forcing myself to stay offline, there was more time for fun experiments with cooking and baking, Netflix marathons with the kids (although I still need to catch up on some favorite shows), a little more exercise (which I totally slacked off on), and ---laundry and house-cleaning got done way more! We even started another big garage clean-up, and those are NOT fun, you guys. Yeah, I'm talking dumpster rental!
Not all of the offline time was for fun stuff, though. I'll admit that, because do want you to know that it wasn't all smiles and cupcakes...I'll get to more on that stuff later, though. For now, let's get to this week's Words for my Wednesday!
This summer has been full of some pretty great moments for my family and me. Sometimes it's the most unexpected moments that become the very best memories.
I know I've said it before, but I'll say it again: Unplugging from the online world is important. It's needed as a recharge and refuel for your creativity. It's needed so that you don't get burnt out!
And it's important to live in the present with those around you, creating moments that will turn into memories. Memories are worth so much more than that extra half hour of photo editing, online research, checking emails or social media status updates.
It's true that there's not enough time in the day for everything, so we shouldn't try to cram everything into just one day. If we don't know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory, then we should attempt to make as many moments as we can to be able to have as many memories as possible.
What's your favorite memory of this summer so far? Let me know in a blog comment! I'd love to read about it. =0)
