Three Things About Me {& a Holiday Giveaway}

I haven't been the best at this whole "work-life balance" thing, especially because there has been so much going on in my household as far as extra-curricular activities and life events go. It's even been difficult to keep up with some Etsy orders, because I've been having super-irritating internet issues to top it all off. All I can say is this: It's not always the best thing to have your whole house running solely off of WiFi!

Anyway, today I'm going to tell you Three Things About Me - things that you may or may not already know. But I will try to do another Three Things post later on as well (I'm thinking maybe next month). And maybe it will inspire you to write a Three Things post too. It would be fun to have a linky party like this, where we all just learn new things about each other every month, don't you think?

Well, here I go...

1. I'm a sucker for flower close-ups. I actually really love most macro photography shots in general. I always have, and I don't know why. There's just something about them...I also love abstract art of all kinds. I love the fact that something that doesn't seem like much at all at first glance can be something so incredibly beautiful when you look at it a little more closely.

A fall time rose in my front yard, from a bush that I haven't watered in weeks!

2. I have a huge sweet tooth! Ever since I was really little, I've loved all things sweet. I never thought that I could live a day without eating something sweet, but last year I went without sugar for an entire six weeks. It was definitely hard to do, but I did it.

My latest cookie craze obsession - Susan Cookies from Safeway.
I need to learn how to bake these myself!

3. I technically don't have a favorite holiday, but I have a favorite holiday season. I love the entire season of giving: Thanksgiving and Christmas time. People just seem to be nicer to each other all around, and there is this focus on gratitude and giving to others. I wish everyone would feel that way all year round, but the truth is that the holiday season just creates the atmosphere. From the beginning of fall with the changing leaves and beautiful, rich colors to the crisp, cold winter air and hot chocolate with marshmallows. The holidays are just inescapably heart-warming and also full of tradition. Ever since I was a little girl, there was always a tradition of putting up the Christmas tree, trimming it and hanging ornaments together as a family - always memorable, always fun...Tradition. And it's now a tradition that I carry on with my own family. Plus, each year, we also add at least one new ornament for the tree for the following year.

So there you have it. Three things about me. Did I surprise you with anything you didn't already know about me???

Well, to celebrate the arrival of November and my favorite season of giving, I'm hosting a holiday giveaway for you all today. So thank you for visiting, and please enter to win. I wish you all the best of luck!

You take such beautiful macros! Mmmm! Sweets are not easy to give up. I do find when you go some time without them and go back to eating them, less is satisfying. There's a bonus!

One item I'd pick from Tree Classics is the 42" lighted Alpine wreath. I'd hang it over my garage and spice up the holidays!
