Teeny, Tiny, and Oh-So-Cute {Pink Mouse Boutique Feature & GIVEAWAY}

Tiny crochet creations absolutely amaze me. I don't know how to crochet, so even regular-sized crochet is awesome. Add the fact that it's a miniature version, and I'm hooked! When Pink Mouse Boutique contacted me interested in sponsoring here on the blog, I couldn't resist.

Diana creates tiny crochet gifts: Baskets, Dolls, Headbands & More.
While browsing her shop back in December, I fell in love with the cute mini elf dolls! You'll see that her items are made with a touch of whimsy and a whole lot of love.

I'm going to get straight to the point and share our quick interview Q & A session with you all.

How did you choose your shop name?

The name Pink Mouse Boutique came from my daughter's pink mouse shoes. Her grandmother gave them to her and even though they are too big, ever since she got them, she's been wearing them everywhere. If I try to hide them, she always finds them and wants to put them on. They are her favorite gift. So, I picked the name Pink Mouse Boutique because I wanted the things you buy from my shop to be your favorite purchase.

Learn more about her shop HERE.

What has been your favorite item to make so far?

My hot air balloon. It's really fun to make it and I love that the basket is an actual acorn top.

What inspires you?

Anything really. And whenever I thin of a good idea I write it down. I used to not do that and a lot of good ideas got forgotten. Lesson learned!

What is your idea of the perfect Valentine's Day gift?

I am very easy to please. I just love being surprised so whatever the gift is, I want to not know about it until my husband gives it to me on Valentine's Day.

Make it Green 2015: Rockin' Green Laundry Detergent Giveaway

It's time for the next installment of Make it Green in 2015. And this time we're talking dirty laundry! You can clean that dirty laundry with something green - Rockin' Green, a green laundry detergent that you're sure to love. Keep reading for more info from Latched on Mom.

Figuring out the best way to get your cloth diapers clean can be a daunting task.  I follow conversations online about the many different ways to wash cloth diapers and have found opinions differ.  It can be quite discouraging if you can't find the right washing routine.  There's many types of detergents available out there, and variants of washing machines, (e.g top-loading, front-loading) so how do you know what is the better choice for you and for the environment?
Visit the Environmental Working group to search your current laundry detergent's ingredients.   How many toxic chemicals are in your detergent?  During the Make it Green in 2015 series, we've discussed simple ways to make changes this year to make healthier, ecologically friendly choices.  A mother only wants the best for her baby, and choosing cloth diapers is a fantastic way to provide your child with a healthier alternative.  Being attentive of environmentally safe laundry detergents and using them is an impressive way to perpetuate your cloth diaper craze and eco-consciousness! Taking care of your family and taking care of Earth is an easy thing to do with Rockin' Green.  The ingredients in all of the Rockin' Green products are made with a biodegradable plant-based and petroleum-free surfactant.  Rockin' Green is committed to giving families a non-toxic, gentle formula with substantial cleaning power!
Click here to read the full review of Rockin' Green by Latched On Mom.
Here's a chance to win a 3.2 lb bag of Classic Concentrate Laundry Detergent!

Just fill out the competition form below to enter the giveaway!  The giveaway will run from 1/27/15-2/9/15.  Open to US only.  Void where prohibited.  Must be 18 years of age or older to enter.  Winner will be announced on this post, as well as emailed (so make sure to log into the competition form using the email address you use).  You will have 48 hours to respond or a new winner will be drawn.   Rockin' Green Classic Rock

Always Coca Cola {Wordless Wednesday}

I've always liked the Coca Cola style. Admit it, they have awesome branding!

I remember way back when...There was a Coca Cola commercial with the Coca Cola song, Always Coca Cola, and the screen was full of the changing bottle caps. Anyone else remember that one? That's my all time favorite commercial! I still remember the song too. "Whenever there is fun there's always Coca Cola!" Such a catchy jingle. I wish they'd bring that back sometime soon.

always coca cola
I shared it on instagram too.

When I moved into my first apartment, my dishes were Coca Cola brand. Clear plates, bowls, mugs - all with embossed cola bottles and the brand logo - and glasses in two sizes with the name. They were my favorite dish set. Ever. They're long gone now, but they remain my favorite set of dishes that I've owned. They were just cool like that.

OK. I couldn't help it. I got to thinking...I need to find that commercial. I searched YouTube. I guess I got the name of the jingle wrong, but face it - it's ALWAYS Coca Cola to me! Had to share. This is a short version. I remember a longer version, but this will do!

So here's my not-so-Wordless Wednesday. =0)

Is there a company that you admire because of their awesome branding?

Catching Up {& A Nordstrom #Giveaway}

It's crazy what two weeks offline and without a computer can do to you! I have so much I still need to catch up on (and I knew it would be frustrating)

Plus, I've started some other work-related activities this month (outside the comfort of home) that are making me realize I need to work on my time management skills while adjusting to the new change. After being a stay-and-work-at-home-mom for nearly 10 years, I have to re-teach myself the skills to really multi-task all over again. It's difficult, but I'm managing all right so far - with the exception of still being a little bit behind schedule with a few things.

A little background, I completely dived in with a job search at the end of last month and started applying at random places with job postings that I thought I could handle while still doing work at home. After being out of the paid job workforce for so long, I had no expectations that I would ever in a million years get a call back so quickly, but it happened. Crazy, right? Yeah, I thought so too. Although I did not get the job (yet, maybe, I don't know), I'm actively searching. By the way, job search is a job in itself - unpaid, yes, but it is still work. It really is. I had forgotten what the whole process involves, and I seriously need to brush up on some skills (Oh hey, resume, where have you been? Interview readiness? Uhhh...I think not!). Things that I had been fairly confident about years ago are now terrifying me.

My little baby girl started daycare/preschool (you can see some of that on instagram). She LOVES it. I'm pretty sure that her favorite part is all of the art activities. She's such a little creative girl! She experienced painting with an easel and thinks the world of it. I think it's pretty safe to say that an art easel is now on her wishlist. Yet while she's so eager and willing to go to preschool, I'm the one with the attachment issues. This is a first, because with all my other kids the willingness was not there.

With all the hustle and bustle of being busy trying to catch up with the blog, the shop, the job search and starting new adventures like preschool, it was a pretty chaotic week. Throw in a sick kid mid-week, and call it even crazier. So many doubts about my capabilities started to surface.

As Thursday winded down, I came to a realization, and I shared it with a tweet. I'm sharing it here today too, because if any of you are in the same mindset as me this week - the one where you have so much to do and you're stressed because your To-Do list is so long it's completely off the notepad and the days don't seem long enough - maybe it will help you out.

Just breathe. Tackle that list one line at a time. You can do it. I can do it. Believe in yourself.

TGIF! To celebrate the end of a very long week, here's an awesome giveaway for you to enter. Who likes shopping at Nordstrom? How does a $500 gift card for a shopping spree sound? I know you're excited, so go ahead and enter!
