Bad Blogger

I've been a bad blogger this year. A really bad blogger.

First, and for a very long time, it was internet connectivity issues. As soon as I got that fixed, my computer was just super incredibly slooooow (and it still is most of the time). I had even lost a big chunk of prepared blog post drafts that were basically ready to go. I recently found out that it most of my headache was because of the Microsoft Windows 10 Update - an update I hadn't even wanted, but somehow got overnight a few months ago. We had shut down the computer at night, like any other night, but the next time we turned it on, everything was different, changed. And I mean everything!

Anyway, long story short, a friend helped me realize that it was this update that had caused total chaos for the poor computer, making it incredibly slow and also responsible for freezing quite often. I can't work with multiple tabs (nothing over two open tabs opens) or windows. It's really quite sad because the computer isn't that old at all. =0(

Well, it still has Windows 10 on it. I haven't had the chance to take it to my IT buddy to have it all fixed yet. But I have backed up mostly everything on it, so it's ready to be wiped clean. And I really can't wait for when it is all cleaned up. It will be nice. But until then, I'm at the mercy of its disasters...

I haven't blogged for a very long time - pretty much all year. And I've had SO much to share too!
Life without blogging has been life as usual, but I've really missed blogging and the community. Since my attempt at a comeback during the summer months, I felt like way too much had changed, and it terrified me to try and jump back in. And then I couldn't jump back in, which made it all the more frustrating for me. I rarely even visit the computer desk anymore, because it's just that bad.

But on occasion, I do try my chance at the computer, hoping that it's a good day. If I can open more than two tabs, then I try and go for it. And tonight, the computer is working, so here I am.

I can't believe that it's October already. I'm just not ready for it to be holiday season and the end of the year yet. Not. At. All.

We visit the Giant Pumpkin Festival just about every year, and I'll share more on that later, but for now, I thought I'd share just a little bit of what my family and I have been up to with the arrival of fall season.  =0)

My youngest daughter is playing her first season of soccer, which I find utterly awesome, because I've always wanted to be a soccer mom and go to games. None of my other kids wanted to play soccer, though, so I never had the chance. For some reason, without me even asking, my youngest wanted to play. So, of course, I jumped in before she could change her mind.

There's a stand at the afternoon games that sells drinks, corn, and other fun stuff. We got a coconut drink, and it tastes exactly like a coconut pelata (creamy ice cream on a stick)! We love it, especially me - being a huge fan of anything and everything coconut. So my daughter came home and tried making it. I'm super happy to say that it turned out pretty tasty. Really yummy!

We ring in fall with the first weekend of October each year, because that's when we attend the Giant Pumpkin Festival in our area. Even when we see huge, giant pumpkins weighing nearly 2,000 pounds, I still love seeing the awesome stacks of cute little pumpkins like the ones above.

Fall starts our baking season as well. Summer is just too dang hot for anything related to baking, so as soon as that semi-cool weather hits, we bake! The first thing made in the kitchen this year - Snickerdoodle Cookies!!!

We celebrated National Taco Day last week with some homemade soft tacos. The one above is just plain with nothing but meat, cheese and hot sauce. But the kids sure love them.

I admit, I do love the long summer sunny days, and I'm going to miss them. But one thing I always look forward to during fall is the lower electric bills.  LOL
So what are you doing now during fall season? What's one of your favorite things about fall that you always look forward to?

Welcome back. You have been missed.
I haven't gone the Windows 10 route, and the more I hear the happier I am.
It is Spring here, and I am loving it. So not looking to the return of Spring's ugly sister Summer though.

Hello and welcome back. I'm still using Windows XP now, been afraid to update since I'm still using an old laptop.
There is no fall here in Indonesia so can't complain about it :)

Welcome back! I hope your computer behaves again soon to let you post again. I have no idea where my last few months went, but am looking forward to the leaves changing now that most of the flowers are gone!

Glad you're back Kim! Updates make my computer screwy sometimes too. I've been staying in more now that it's colder out. I am looking forward to pumpkin picking and the leaves changing. The colors are so pretty for fall.

I've been absent as well! I keep flip flopping back and forth whether I want to jump back in or not. I love the photos! How is your youngest enjoying soccer?
