MY Editor's Pick

My Editor's Pick this week comes from one of my blog besties who recently traveled to Phuket (I'm so jealous!). I'm so glad that I've been able to keep up with her on social media while I've been away from blogging. I truly love her blog and hope you'll stop by and take a peek at her adventures in fashion, beauty and travel...She was our party's last entry of the week, but it's definitely a post that shouldn't be overlooked!

National Pancake Day 2017

I must admit, pancakes aren't my favorite, but I do like them. Sometimes I like them fluffy, but other times I like them super flat, for some reason. Is that weird? In any case, since it's National Pancake Day and all, I'll share some pancakes that are not bad for being on the fluffy side.

Buttermilk Pancakes

I also really want to try these Lemon Blueberry Pancakes from The Pioneer Woman. But if you want to get into the spirit of fall and all things pumpkin spice, I'd say try this Pumpkin Pancake recipe from allrecipes.com (I probably will sometime soon, just to try).

Will you be celebrating National Pancake Day 2017?

Sad to See Summer Go

Oh, hi there! So glad you stopped by for a visit.

The month of October is just around the corner, but still...I'm sad to see summer go. I like having the sunshine wake me up in the early morning. It just makes it so much easier to get up and get the day started.

Don't get me wrong. There are lots of things I like about the fall season too. I like that the weather is not too hot and not too cold. We don't need the A/C or the heater (so that electric bill is mighty nice during this in between time). I like the colors of the leaves - how they change into pretty, rich colors. I like the chilly mornings and warm drinks. Yep, I even join the pumpkin spice craze a tiny bit and have at least one PSL before they disappear.

But there's something magical about summer. Long days, short nights - maybe less sleep time, but oh so worth it.

Let me just share three things that I love about summer, before I officially say hello to fall season...

Summer Favorite No. 1

One of my most favorite things ever (even when it's not summer) is the cold sweet treats, like ICE CREAM. We went to the California State Fair and had DoleWhip for the first time.  Deeeeeeelish!!!

Root beer floats are always fun too. (This one is from Leatherby's Family Creamery in Elk Grove, a total kid fave.)

And, of course, we can't leave out the Fruit Freeze from Gunther's Ice Cream (another kid fave)! The one below is pineapple with vanilla ice cream and topped with strawberry. Sooooo good.

Summer Favorite No. 2

Awesome BBQs and fresh summer fruit from the farmer's markets! A BBQ always means quality family time. Definitely time well spent.

Summer Favorite No. 3

Even though they're shorter because the sunny days are longer, those summer nights are as good as gold.

So tell me, what is one of your most favorite things about summer season? Leave me a comment and share.

It's Been Awhile

Hey everyone. I know. It's been awhile. A long while. I'm not even sure I remember how to do this anymore, but I figured, why not give it a try?

This morning as I was scrolling through my instagram feed, I was reminded how writing can be such a great form of therapy - a great way to self-reflect. And, if anything, it's just a great way to say what you want to say, even if no one ever reads it.

So here's to my new beginning...

First, I'll just start off by mentioning that I've been wanting to get back into the blogging scene for quite awhile. I made a pitiful attempt in 2016, but it was still too overwhelming. After a year away, everything had changed, and I felt like I couldn't keep up long enough to re-learn. I know I'm probably still going to feel that way this time around, but I still want to go for it.

Over the summer my family moved from our home of 11 years to a new place. I don't even really call it home yet, but maybe I'll start to...I just miss our old house, I guess. Here's a quick peek at the new place, though.

I wasn't just away from blogging, I was away from most everything online as well. I kept up with just a couple of social media outlets instagram and twitter, because those are my two favorites. I was even away from my family's etsy shop. But for some reason, I am now motivated to get back into it all. I don't even know why, really.

In the next few weeks, I'm going to try to get my blog makeover done. I started it last year, but I never finished. The fam and I are also working on some new product lines for the shop, and I hope to launch them here first. So I hope you'll all stay tuned and join me on the journey!

I've been away a long while, so I'm really interested in what you've been up to. Leave me a comment and tell me your story! I also want to visit your blogs, so leave a link for me to go and say hi.  =0)
What was your favorite moment this summer?
